I see there are a few other older threads on this topic that are similar. Basically, creating follow up calls to either an email or non-email based campaign. I’M SO CLOSE!
I’ve used workflow, I think others use the “campaigns” module as the base (which is where the problem is). I’ve been using the “campaign log module” to run the workflow.
I can create the call log based on the campaign, I can relate the call to the Target ID (lead). But I can’t populate the “relate to” in the call record for some reason. I don’t have the option to select the “Target ID” whereas in relationships I do.
Any ideas of how I can populate the Target ID for the Related to?
This one works
But to be honest I don’t even remember the details of that, i did it years ago.
Thanks @pgr, I did see that in one of your old posts, but I think the “ID” is the campaign ID, not the person ID. I tried that and it doesn’t work. My Workflow Module = “Campaign Log”.
So I still have the problem in the original workflow I can’t select the Target ID = Related to ID.
HOWEVER, as a work around, I added the Target ID to the “Description” field in the call which I was able to do in the original workflow (ideally I’ll create a custom field like “campaign_target_id” or something in the future.
Anyway, I created a second workflow that now calculates the Related to ID from the Description I just populated. It’s kind of the long way around but it seems to work.
I’m still curious why I can’t select “Target ID” in the original workflow.
If anyone needs to do this (I would assume people do, this is a common thing!) Here are the instructions and screen shots of how to set this up.
It’s not elegant but it works.
