Compose mail - no emails in dropdown menu

Hello I have issue with sending email from SuiteCRM Client.
When I try to compose email to specific person I press on email address and it runs Compose Email window but in From field I have blank values.
Sending email from CRM works when I create New Account or try to send Test email.

Please help me.

Same issue here, with a little hel pfrom an outside source had a somewhat in-depth look.

However, we need assistance of the community!

We cannot find the namefield: from_addr_name to be pointing to somewhere.

We guess it stays blank because the name field isnt gathering data.

All required steps were made from our side, SPF for the header From, we tried to create another fieldname ā€œfrom_addr_nameā€ but none of them succesful.

Can someone have a close look if the field "from_addr_name"is pointing to right assigned locations?

Seems like an issue persisting at more than just a single user.

Need this part in order to be able to have a more proper workflow with relations.

Thanks in advance!

Is there a resolution to this issue? I am having the exact same issue as described above. I am new to SuiteCRM and really need help; this is a critical issue. Thanks!

Same problem here! Is there any solution?

Hi all,

I got result Email ā€˜fromā€™ drop down is working now. Kindly try the below step.

Create new group email account in Inbound email
Go to user profile page. Here we have the option for ā€˜email settingā€™.
Please confirm your email is correct.
Then click on the ā€˜settingā€™ button.
Popup box is came after click the setting button.
Click ā€˜mail accountsā€™ on the popup box and active incoming emails and save.

Done.

Thanks.

Hello,

I have reproduced the below steps:

And it helped. Thank you.

However, I would like to add more clarity to this issue.

You cannot compose and send emails if Userā€™s email under User Management section is not active.
So, as Admin:

  • go to User Management section
  • select user and click Actions - Edit
  • scroll down to Email Settings - Click - Setting
  • Go to Mail Accounts and Make sure that status of the email account is Active

NOTE: in SuiteCRM 7.9.7 if you click Active status or Delete/edit mail account and save the results - NOTHING will happen!!! :silly:

Workaround:
In the list of Mails accounts:

  • click Add and add your account one more time where Mail account name is your email
  • Save it and login as a user

Voila - now you can compose and send emails!!!

Hi dl3737,

An empty ā€œFromā€ dropdown is usually due to having incorrect email settings. How have you set up your email settings? do you have both a personal inbound and outbound email?

Hi Dillon,

I am running 7.11.4 and the From dropdown box is still empty.
It shouldnā€™t be that hard to setup an outgoing email right?

I have verified the following:

  • Group Inbound accounts (3 accounts working, able to receive mails)
  • Outgoing email accounts (1 account test sending email works)

However, when i go to the personā€™s profile setting, in email setting i get this

Name SMTP Server Edit Delete
system mail.xxxxxxxxxx.com Warning: Missing username and password for outgoing mail account.

Going into my admin outgoing server setting, i donā€™t see any account named ā€œsystemā€
very vexxing.
