I am not sure what issues this would bring about if upgraded from 6.4.0.
However, I believe the current safest upgrade path to the most recent version of SuiteCRM would be:
Upgrade to SugarCRM CE version 6.5.20
Migrate using our package to SuiteCRM
Upgrade to SuiteCRM 7.3.2 using the package: “SuiteCRM-Upgrade-7.1.x-to-7.3.2”
Upgrade to SuiteCRM 7.4.3 using the package: “SuiteCRM-Upgrade-7.3.x-to-7.4.3”
I would recommend taking a backup of your DB and SugarCRM instance before going through this process, just to be on the safe side.
It may also be a good idea to, after each upgrade, Set the permissions on your instance to appropriate values and then run a Quick Repair & Rebuild. (Found in the CRM in Admin > Repair).
After the Repair is run, a page will appear. Scroll down to the bottom of this page and click “Execute” if the option appears

mmm - I made a complete copy of my production site and then followed your great guidance.
Though I got a lot of Error 2006 issues to being with, eventually I have successfully upgraded Sugar and then migrated using the script suggested to Suite.
I have only done the migration so far, not further upgrade in Suite.
There appears to be a problem with the email inboxes?
The copied installation now upgraded to Suite shows 701 emails in the main group inbox, but the original mailbox in Sugar only has 18 emails in - the emails attach to contact/lead records once replied to so do not remain in the inbox once actioned in Sugar.
It appears in the Suite upgrade that has not happened?
This is repeated for other inboxes.
Can anyone advise what has happened and how I would solve this, or does Suite not attach emails to contact records when replied to?
I am not sure it if it a faulty upgrade or how Suite works.
UPDATE - OK I think it is a faulty upgrade as NONE of the leads show at all in the migrated instance.
Also all my customisations in Studio and layouts have vanished!
I will go back to the beginning and try again!

I am trying again to do this, but have the same issue i.e. when upgrading from Sugar 6.4 to 6.5 ready to upgrade to Suite, there are now many hundreds of emails in the inbox of the copied site compared to the original site in all inboxes.
It looks like all the emails which were deleted in the original site are now showing in the copy.
The DB is huge, so I am guessing the shedulers have not been working to prune the database?
I am not a coder but set up the cron using the details given when installing, which is copied below
I have done the copy and upgrade several times and get the same result.
I have googled how to delete records from the DB, but it is all beyond me!
Can anyone advise on this?
I need to get rid of all the old supposedly deleted records in the original site and make sure the cron is workng going forwards so the new copy will be a true copy and I can complete the migration

I just found that it is just the function::pruneDatabase which is not running, the other scheduled tasks show as successful in the scheduler logs and we do receive email.
