Looking for some help identifying why i cannot add new dashlets. Quick actions does not list dashlet, there is no button for dashlets on my dashboard, i cand find anything in admin tools. Am i missing something?

im starting to think this is a permissions issue. the account im using has sys admin privs inside the application, but this is not the original admin user that i made when i installed the software. i accidentally called it root and deleted that user from the app after making my new user in the app. im assuming the admin user you first make is the only one able to see these?
i can see the “root” user still inside mysql database, there just isnt a user in the app anymore.
any recommendations here?
i just reset my homepage hoping to fix this. it didnt work.
well… i figured out why they were missing. if you are in an admin account, click on your user icon in the top right of the screen, click admin, system settings, and uncheck “Prevent User Customizable Homepage Layout:”. when i did a fresh install i must have thought this was a good idea before knowing what it was.
