Anyone doing anything with AI?

Just curious if anyone is doing anything with AI to integrate with SuiteCRM and do stuff like analyze sales, funnel, won deals/lost deals, etc. and probably lots of stuff I haven’t thought of?

Kind of a general discussion question.

It would be great feature if we do ā€˜SuiteCRM powered by AI’

I’ve been asking a friend who knows AI about possibilities of running local AI (not ChatGPT, but an AI engine running locally on the server).

I would prefer that sort of thing, which make the AI less knowledgeable of the outside world, but you could give it your entire company DB without worries. You could train it on your employee’s past actions to facilitate future actions.

It should be possible, there are some hardware demands but they are not too crazy. Any way, I am not working on it currently, I can’t do it by myself, but it’s an avenue I’d like to pursue one day, it would fit my low-code add-ons perfectly, I think.

You could just type what you want in a field, in english, and have it replaced. Or get AI-prefilled email responses, with specific knowledge of your system, your habits.

@pgr that’s along the lines of what I was thinking too. It would be useful to populate email responses and/or email templates. I do a lot of work in WordPress too and that seems to be the trend. Pretty much every field in most popular plugins has an ā€œaiā€ button that generates content, meta descriptions, page titles, etc.

I’m aware of another fork of Sugar open source, VTiger, that has a ā€œCalculus AIā€ feature basically Chat GPT, on their paid cloud subscription. Someone needs to add it to Suite v8. Overview video from 2020:

I’m using it to create logic hook code to go beyond what workflows can do in terms of coding (I’m not a programmer) with some good results so far (still relatively basic). It’s not very good at troubleshooting so far, albeit better than without it.

I intend to use an API with either Llama or another solution to do what you’re suggesting, ie auto replies and or help with drafting emails. I’m about six months away from starting that project, happy to collaborate with others to reach any productivity gain objective.

Everyone could post their progress of an AI model :robot: on the 15th and 30th of each month .

I just launched ai powered cold emails writer

Yes, probably. :+1:
I was just curious since he posted it here and wondered why. It seemed like a good idea.

Nice to see a lot of people doing work on AI for SuiteCRM. We have an update to share, as we have developed an add-on which -

  1. If an e-mail received - it understands the intent of the email
  2. Understands if its an issue or a query
  3. If its an issue - it will create a case for that (Filling all the details automatically)
  4. If its a query - it will create a lead for that (Filling name, email, company, any other details from and mail and the footer as well)
  5. Along with the workflow - it will assign the cases or leads to the relevant team/department/person)

So you can checkout the store page - FynRahbar - GenAI Email Sense | SuiteCRM Module

Most practical use I’ve seen is keeping AI out of the core write path and using it for draft work first. In SuiteCRM that usually means summarizing account history, drafting follow-up emails from the latest call notes, or flagging opportunities where next step/date has gone stale.

If I were wiring it in, I’d start with 3 narrow jobs:

1. Generate a short account or opportunity summary from recent notes, emails, and activity history.

2. Prefill reply drafts for emails, but keep the human approval step before send.

3. Score deals for risk based on missing next activity, stalled stage duration, or sentiment in recent notes.

The big thing is grounding prompts in exact Suite fields instead of free text only, and writing the AI output to a separate draft/recommendation field first. That gives you something useful without letting the model mutate live records blindly.

I agree with your approach to keeping AI out of the core write path and using it for tasks like summarizing account histories, drafting follow-up emails. Interestingly, this is exactly what our addon, SuiteAI Insights , does as well.

With SuiteAI Insights, we focus on providing AI-powered insights inside SuiteCRM.

  1. Generating summaries of accounts and opportunities based on recent notes, activities, and email history, much like the approach you mentioned.

  2. Drafting replies for emails and allowing for human review before sending, ensuring quality control while still saving time.

We also take the same approach you suggested of grounding AI prompts in specific SuiteCRM fields, rather than free text, and writing AI outputs to draft/recommendation fields first—ensuring that the live records are never altered blindly.

It’s great to see we’re on the same page with AI integration—our goal is to enhance SuiteCRM without disrupting core processes.
