Hello. I have installed SuiteCRM—it looks awesome! I tried it out a bit and understand how it works a bit better. I see a lot of sales, marketing, and business information from the User’s Guide. However, I am at an impasse. I need resources on building SuiteCRM into an education-based CRM from scratch by modifying the sales-based look, but where do I first start? I saw SuiteCRM Education webpages – AWESOME!!! But I don’t want to pay for their services to build my education-based CRM. I hope you can provide or direct me to the best resources for creating this awesome SuiteCRM into education-based CRM.
hmm.. Sounds Interesting
Hello Paul,
hello Ethan,
I’ve built multiple projects for EduTech companies and universities.
The processes and requirements are surprisingly different. Some focus more on the products / courses, others on the alumni network and others on the student management.
In general, if you don’t care for sales, you can deactivate the Opportunity module and the whole CRM ‘appears’ to be less salesy.
I’ve got one workshop tailored towards student management online (paid):
and several videos on my YT channel are a tiny part of the EduTech projects and one would need to pick which one fits best.

In general, those CRM projects can be quite complex.
If you have specific questions, simply go ahead and ask:
If you’re more looking into the conceptional part of things, that’s hard to fit into a forums post and best to be discovered in a 1 - 2h high level workshop.
I’ve built a fully functioning and automated education management system in SuiteCRM for a large US client. From lead intake, to credential collection, payment status, admissions and course updates and grade reporting, I’ve built an entire system from the ground up, including dozens of workflows that automate the whole thing, custom views, etc.
If you are looking for help you can reach out to me personally, if you just want to ask questions you can fire away here in the forum.
