The process of fresh installation of SuiteCRM-7.11.2 goes well. After the installation I go to the host name URL and get

I’ve tried several times.

I always delete all files and database. Then create new database and extract files form .zip file.

Even made new account on hosting provider and tried there.

Here is what I found. Installation of SuiteCRM 7.11.2 and SuiteCRM 7.10.14 LTS is broken. During the installation process the outbound_email table is not created.

Then I’ve tried fresh install of SuiteCRM-7.10.6. It works. The outbound_email table is created.

You need to increase memory_limit in your php.ini, you’re getting an error because of that. Make it 512MB if you can, or 256MB minimum.

Also, the part of suitecrm.log you’re sharing here isn’t the part that would be most interesting to know. This error

happens at 12:18:42, that’s when things start to go wrong, I believe. The fact that you have many errors accessing an inexistant outbound_email table is secondary - we need to find out why it wasn’t created in the first place.

Another thing I would like to suggest is to disable your cron jobs during installation: some of the errors you’re getting are from cron.php running when there is no SuiteCRM installed (yet). This can interfere, it’s better if you disable cron jobs for now.

May I ask you to please close the issue you opened on Github? I am now 100% sure you just need to work on your installation, it’s not a SuiteCRM bug. Thanks.

The next thing you need to do is enable some PHP modules that are missing, namely mbstring.

You can do this by installing them in your web server and enabling them in your php.ini, you will find many instructions online.

In Ubuntu 16.04 with PHP 7.3 I run this to get all modules at once:

apt install zip unzip php-mbstring php7.3-mbstring php-gettext php-xml php7.3-zip php7.3-imap php7.3-gd php7.3-curl php7.3-intl php-gd phpmyadmin

The actual names may vary from OS to OS, but you get the general idea.

I installed those as requested in the window.
As it turned out I needed much more packages and larger Memory Limit as it was stated in the Pre-Installation requirements window.

You are using php 7.3, but that doesn’t say in Compatibility Matrix

You are right about 7.3, I am using it experimentally in a test system. It seems to work 100% fine.

What exactly is missing from that screen? Which modules? To be honest I always install doing everything from the command-line first, so I don’t pay much attention to warnings on the screen. But I would like to improve this if possible, can you tell me what’s missing?

The first problem I had was the memory limit. The installation process said that it is set to 32M in my setup, that I should set this to 40 M or larger. I gave it good measure and give it little bit more that suggested (40M), I gave it 52M. But you suggested 512 or 256MB minimum which is big difference. 40M or 256M.
To what size I can set memory limit now that the installation is complete?

the second was the mbstring. It didn’t warn me in the installation process. It just didn’t work afterwards.
It should check and warn you about every module it requires.

you also wrote that I should get php-gettext and php7.3-intl. I installed it but I didn’t found it anywhere to be required.

I am not sure how it could pass that and then fail later - maybe something to do with different versions of mbstring module, that have this function but not some other function needed? It is strange… :unsure:

You might need them later! I only installed them when I got some error requiring them. But I don’t recall when, or where in the app. I’ll try to pay more attention in the future so I can make sure these installer warnings are all there.

About that mbstring check failure. I’m just guessing. I have several versions of php installed 7.0, 7.1 and 7.2. I had mbstring installed on php 7.0 but not on 7.2 which was set for SuiteCRM in php.ini. Perhaps the code checks for mbstring present in php, but not checks for the version used?

Can I set now memory limit to 64MB?

The memory limit is a limit, I see no reason not to make it generous, it won’t spend your server memory unless it needs to use it. But yes, you can go back to 64MB and only raise if you run into problems. Keep an eye on your error.log for any FATALs.

The mbstring thing can be explained by different PHP versions, yes, but only if the install check ran with a different version than whatever gave you problems later. Note that Scheduler jobs run from a different PHP (CLI), so it’s perfectly possible that they are missing a module, even if the web server PHP has it.
