Advanced OpenPortal Error: Failed to save user Please enter a user name.

I’v successfully installed the AOP component in joomla and configured the settings for suite crm.

I also created the contact as instructed in the manual but I get an error when I try to create the Portal User. It says “Failed to save user Please enter a user name.” I cant find any place to enter a username. Please see attached screenshots for more details.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Hi,

The email is used as the username, does the contact have an email address?

AOP should display a message if the email is empty, this will be added in a future version.

Thanks for the prompt response. I’ve added an email address and its working.

Just to confirm, does it create a default password or does that have to be created manually?

The joomla portal will create a default (random) password for the user. This will be sent out (along with the joomla portal URL) to the user via email.
