Adding Fields to import Duplicate checker?

Hello,

The current import duplicate checker only checks for name/firstname/lastname/email … Is there a way we can add more fields to check against duplicates like street address or phone number inorder to merge duplicates?

@nitinvashist01 You should make correctly array ‘indices’ of the file - ‘vardefs.php’ for module ‘Leads’ . You can look at: the functions ‘getDuplicateCheckIndexedFiles’ and ‘_getIndexVardefs’ of the file - ‘modules/Import/ImportDuplicateCheck.php’ the function ‘getIndices’ of the file - data/SugarBean.php for mode details.

I have this problem too and I don’t have the coding expertise to try p.konetskiy’s solution.

It’s really frustrating that the ‘duplicate merge’ option that appears on the field attributes in the Studio module doesn’t make a field appear in the list of fields to be used to detect duplicates. What is this option for if not for that purpose?
