I want to know how can i apply number formatting (thousands separator) for the data type ‘DECIMAL’
and disable this option for free input data type

There is a 1000s Separator option in the locale settings within the admin page. Not sure if thats what you mean.
I did it , by going to the admin panel in the Settings part Premises, currency system, thousand separator: i put space
Actually in the detail view and the list view, these numbers follow the formatting, but, displaying this data in a PDF file, these data lose the digital formatting.

You would need to just save them as an ordinary text field for that.
