A few errors noticed after installation

with my script…

Successful Install Suitecrm8 onto Linux Mint Script

Hope this helps… Note: I am not an expert. This script was developed by trial and error. Mostly error. However, it works on my machine. Note: I am using Linux Mint. After using for a couple of hours, I have some comments.

Overall I like this version. It seems faster, snappier, and I find it much easier to link subpanel information. I did run into some issues though.

1. My initial user name set up on installation was not recognised .

2. I created a module for interviews, containing several Relate fields, Drop Down, Dates, HTML and WYSIWYG. Multiple many to many relationships included.

a. Searching for information in this module was erratic. I could not detect a pattern for when it worked and when i just got a blank screen.

b. HTML fields did not work at all. I got a single long line.

c. WYSIWYG did not work. I got a single long line.

d. Attempting to edit information in a subpanel brought up the error message " you are not authorized to view this page. Please contact your system administrator. So I contacted my self, but I didn’t no anything.

e. Clicking on the Edit Pencil of a Field forces the entire page to go into edit mode. This is different from previous versions and is a waste of Edit Pencils.

f. I cannot find a way to lay out an edit field to the right in studio. It looks like it works, but it doesn’t.

3. Not bugs, but usability for my purposes. ( My application works better with information dense displays.)

a. Pages do not expand to full width of extra wide monitors. It would be nice to have input and output screens larger than a small notebook size, and with 3 , 4 or even (gasp) 5 fields across.

b. Subpanel seem limited to 6 items, and I would really love more.

Well I’m mistaken. The user name that was not recognized belonged to Mariadb. I must have been tired. So not a suitecrm error at all.

pgr sent me a an alternative security script, Thank you. I get an error from the -exec parameter. I haven’t figured out why yet, and the lines look perfectly ok.
