7.9 Email Not Usable

After spending many days on forum and internet and not able to get anywhere, I thought of posting my experience and hoping to get some answers.

  • I upgraded from 7.7 to 7.9 on chrome and immediately after the upgrade, the layout was messed up. Using internet explorer or deleting Cache solved this problem
  • Emails are unusable for me at the moment - the settings are correct and I am able to send test emails
  • Email UI donot show option to delete Email
  • Email UI donot show option to Reply to an Email
  • I am not able to send email - it says “Error Sending Email. Please contact your administrator for assistance.”

I upgraded to 7.9 for the better Email client, but I shot myself in the foot. Any help to get my emails working is really appreciated.


I had a lot of the same problems. Go to your email settings (personal) and make sure you have an inbound and and outbound email account set up. THEN do the Repair email accounts business in the admin menu. THEN I had to deactivate and then re-activate my emails. All seems to be working at the moment. Other than I still don’t know how to delete emails either.

The other thing you can try is a repair and rebuild and then clear your browser cache.
