I have been testing Suite Beta 7.2 and I like it, but I am still a bit hesitant to put it on my server. Is there a timeline for a stable 7.2 release?
Hi wmelon,
There is not currently a release date but we will soon be releasing a Beta 2. Followed by a release candidate, and the production release.
Can you feed back on all functions you like, which ones you have tested and if you found any bugs/issues?
Thanks,
Will.
Hi WIll,
I know you don’t have an upgrade from 7.1 yet, but is there a “manual” upgrade process so that I can test including my customizations? I’ll point to a clone of my MYSQL Database, but want to test including plugins and other “studio-customized” filesystem changes. Such as drop-down lists.
Hi Mike,
There are several new enhancements such as projects, You may be able to point 7.2 at a 7.1 db but may be missing a lot(quick repair & rebuild may resolve some of the issues)
I would suggest waiting until there is an upgrade path for 7.2 to avoid any frustration, errors and issues.
Thanks,
Will.
Will,
Thanks for your response.
7.2 is a good improvement so far. The new Projects module is a dream come true, but the Email client is still a nightmare.
I understand that you guys are working, or will be working on, a new email client, but for the upcoming 7.2 release is it possible to upgrade the current client to the latest TinyMCE or CKEditor?
Also, seeing that I am testing and customizing 7.2 beta, will I be able to do a smooth upgrade to Beta 2 then RC then Stable? Or will it be a fresh install for each version?
Hi wmelon,
It is possible to edit the email client, but it is not a straightforward process. I am not aware of any changes to the email client for SuiteCRM 7.2.x but will keep you updated.
Thanks,
Will.
