We have a fresh install of 7.01 and the Admin user worked fine.
After creating a new user (either admin or regular) we receive the new user email and password as expected.
First login with the temporary password takes us to the create new password … so far so good…
The problem is when we create a new password, we receive this message:
“”“Incorrect current password for user Support. Re-enter password information. “””
And are given the create new password page again…which keeps looping through this process.
I have searched for solutions and hope help is at hand…
Please make sure you copy/paste the system generated password so that there are no errors. This has been tested and it works as desired. It may help if you fully detail the steps you take/take some screenshots of the steps you take and of the issues you are having trying to create a new password.
Thanks Will for the prompt reply
Attached are screen shots…we are using the correct temporary password and you can see we are logged in…image 4…
the problem is that the new password is not being accepted, and we cycle through a loop…screen shot 4…
Image 0 - login
Image 2 - temp password has been accepted and new password is entered then saved
Image 4 - new matching password has been accepted but error message the “current password” has expired
We have solved our problem by turning off the automatic password setting…and manually creating user passwords.
I think this validates that the password setting function is working and the bug is within the new user reset function…
It sounds simple, but did you make sure the password was copy/pasted exactly? Thanks for highlighting this, although we did manage to do this successfully. Having the two instances in different directories should not affect your instances.
