what are the differences between 7.9.x and "previous" releases?

Hello
I know that 7.9 is pretty different for email and ?other? stuff…

My question is what “other” stuff apart from email…
I am not saying that 7.8 email is ok, we all know this is a place for serious improvements… but what else could motivate me to go on 7.9 at the risk of disturbing users…
I found this link https://suitecrm.com/forum/suitecrm-beta/13964-suitecrm-7-9-release-candidate-released-suitecrm-7-9-highlights#46897
about beta, is this still relevant to “production” release?

thank you

It’s mostly the Email module, but if you want detailed info you can always check the release notes:

https://suitecrm.com/wiki/index.php/Release_notes_7.9.1
https://suitecrm.com/wiki/index.php/Release_notes_7.9.2

A few of the security fixes and bugfixes (not related to email) in these latest versions have also been merged back into 7.8.5.

whatever you do, don’t upgrade. 7.9.x is a disaster. Email is still completely rooted, i.e. you can’t send emails, you can’t merge fields into email, you can’t send attachments.

@robdnz it’s funny how you posted that just a few hours after 7.9.3 was released fixing most or all of those bugs…

@pgr yes, you are right, just after we installed 7.9.3 and nothing changed, infact we did a completely clean install of 7.9.3 and the bugs so far remain.

Are you using Microsoft SQL Server or MySQL?

MySQL

As you an see in Github, there were many Email bugs fixed. There are a few still open, but not many. There might be something peculiar to your system that isn’t yet under the developers’ attention.

So if you can check your system one Issue at a time, and report the bugs, that would be a great help for the project.

Will do. Thanks for the replies. Im glad it is working for others as that gives me hope. Cheers!
