I manage a couple websites, a local job board, and a local business directory.
I am thinking how to best use SuiteCRM to manage things like marketing targets and prospects.
When I enter a target, I essentially just annotate in the description which website they are a target for. For example, an HR rep for a company is going to be a target for the job board, but not a target for the local business directory.
This has worked so far, but the issue I am having now is that it’s getting hard to keep track of who is a target for each website.
Does anybody have a similar use case? Any way to sort them based on which product/service I intend to sell them?
There are many ways to do it, each with advantages and disadvantages:
create a custom field on the Target, with those two options, and work with filters to see them separated
create two Accounts, one for each. Associate each Target with the correct Account. In this version, you are using the account not as a “company”, but simply as a way to group “Targets”, which is one possible use for them
keep them associated to two different Target Lists, and work from there.
Regardless of which you choose, I would add this: if you’re not using Leads yet, then drop the Targets and work with Leads instead. These are two best scenarios:
a. you use Leads and then convert to Contacts when they are clients
b. you use Targets to send campaigns, and then Convert to Leads when they show interest, and then convert to Contacts when they are clients
What your using isn’t really a good option: targets --> contacts?
You should use a. if it’s enough for your needs (because it’s simpler), and b. if you require that level of detail in your process.
