Uploading suitecrm files but got "target file already exists" msg > 40 times

looking for an explanation about getting >40 target file already exists messages

using Suitecrm 7.10.32 LTS

i downloaded the zip file and extracted all the files

the target suitecrm directory on my host has been created

so i uploaded the directories and files via ftp to my host’s suitecrm directory

there were thousands of files and directories

during this uploading period i was informed more than 40 times that the target file already existed

how can that be?

the target directory was empty

could it be that for some reason filezilla was interrupted when it was uploading a file and decided to upload that file again but a part of the file already existed so the warning about file already existing appeared?

i chose to overwrite the file each time

Hi,
cannot explain the observed behavior, but I can recommend to upload the whole zip-file to your webserver and extract it on the target machine via ssh/rdp (way faster).

no ssh/rdp available on this host

This sometimes happens when the zip file has the same name as a directory inside the zip, and you have the zip file in that same where you’re extracting to. If it’s not this edge case, I don’t know…

i think my postulating about a file upload problem and restarting it may be closer to an explanation - there are 10,000 files or so - therefore having 50 target file exists msgs is pretty damn good
