Upgraded 7.0.1 to 7.0.2

I tried to upgrade 7.0.1 to 7.0.2 which failed. Not sure why, but the bigger issue is that after reinstalling the backups the Quick repair stops at ‘Rebuilding Relationships’ and I’m missing search and footer tpl’s.
I followed all of the instruction here on the forum without succes. So all permissions are in place.

Any idea what’s wrong or went wrong?

Thanks,

Jaap

Hi japio,

At what stage did your upgrade fail? How did you backup to the previous version? What errors are you getting if any(sugarcrm.log file)?

Thanks,

Will.

Hi Will,

It failed at the final stage. There where I expected the confirmation, it did never respond back.
I installed the sugar back I created just before the upgrade and the database backup and launched again. At that moment I saw that the search.tpl (amongst others) was missing on accounts. So I ran the Quick repair which didn’t complete and stopped at Relationships.

I never got any error, neither is there anything in the error.log. I’m puzzled.

Thanks,

Jaap

Hi japio,

Did you install a completely fresh version of SugarCRM and import the database exported from your previous instance of SugarCRM?

Thanks,

Will.

Hi Will,

No I used the sugar backup because I have a lot of custom stuff.

FYI : I just tested the upgrade on another instance I have available.
See attachments for error message and code.

Hi Will,

any idea what I can do to get my installation up and running again?

Jaap

Hi japio,

What custom modules/customisations do you have on your instance?

Thanks,

Will.

Hi Will,

I mostly added custom fields in Accounts and Contacts and created a custom module Banks. I can’t publish the custom module or access my studio.

Hope you have a solution for this.

Thanks,

Jaap

Hi Will,

I fixed the issue. After a setup to simulate everything before the first crash I could trace what went wrong.
The upgarde went the same way as the first time, so without the feedback at the end of the process and everything seemed to work fine.
Untill I tried to do the Quick Repair again. Also this stopped at the same moment as before but this time I could trace the error.log
Long story short, it came down to a different owner than the standard www-data. It was missing the correct one, it was not www-data. After reconfiguring Apache with the standard owner and group and changing the web folders to www-data, it works smoothly.
I happy on 7.0.2 with all my customizations.

Can you confirm the upgrade process has a standard user somewhere.

Thanks,

Jaap
