Upgrade from 7.8.8 to 7.8.10 broken Scheduled Reports

Hello,

We recently upgraded to 7.8.10 and during the last part of the upgrade where it asks something to the effect of enabling the new views my browser crashed. When I reloaded CRM everything seemed to be working (though I never had the chance to make the selection) except for the scheduled reports and search. When I open a scheduled report it outputs some sort of code. The console gives the following output:

Things I have tried:

• I have checked permissions and ownership as mentioned on this forum post.
• I removed and reuploaded the modules directory.
• I tried turning off ajax module view.
• Creating a new scheduled report.
• Quick repair and rebuild.

None of these things seem to be working. I thought I would try and rerun the upgrade but it would not let me do that. We have made minimal changes to the code. Would there be any DB issues if I did a manual fresh install and pointed it at our existing DB? Sadly, it was about a day before we found the scheduled reports problem and I would rather not need to restore the DB.

The search simply returns blank output.

Chrome Browser 63.0.3239.132 (Official Build) (64-bit)
PHP 7.0 FPM on Apache 2.4

No errors in any of the logs thus far.

That console error - can you get some info as to in which file/line number it happened? Better yet, if it shows you the actual code and you can post a screenshot here.

Also, let’s keep the investigation of both errors (reports / search) clearly separate. Are you sure you don’t have anything in the logs, including php_errors.log when the search fails?

Please try other repairs, especially javascript ones, from Admin / Repairs.

I looked in the CRM logs and found some entries. I forgot about the CRM log and I was only looking at the apache logs.

I did check the DB and that column does in fact exist however it gives the same error when I attempt the query in mysql. I haven’t a clue why.

I fixed this issue with help from this topic:

The way I fixed mine was to go in to studio and change the display view to Tab versus panel. If you look at your screenshot (the one with all the error Code) you will notice just above the Grey button it provides you with a clue. It states when action menu and there are only panel - and there are no tabs make the first panel a tab.

Also another workaround - go to System Settings, then configure AJAX and remove scheduled reports. This also works ( I like the above suggestion better - since I think that how it suppose to be)

This fixed the Scheduled Reports display problem! Thanks for everyones help!

I ended up reverting to a backup, rerunning the update, and setting the display view to tab. That fixed everything. I then merged in any data we had added since the backup. To make matters worse we were using the SuitePImproved theme and it took me a few minutes to remember to set the default theme. None of the subpannels would show any data with the SuitePImproved theme and 7.8.10 :(.

I will try to remove them when I have a moment. I will post the issue on github as well. It seems they might be misplaced as per my second screen shot of the console.

Also, as a note on the SuitePImproved theme, it seems all of the themes other than the base SuiteP have the same issue with Activity/History info not showing up as it should in subpanels. If this problem can be replicated I will stick it on GitHub as well, most of my organization absolutely despises the base SuiteP theme. It is the single reason we will not update to 7.9 so I am going to see if I can find a theme fix for 7.8.10.

On 7.8.10 you shouldn’t need a theme fix - it already incorporates 4 new colour schemes, and reduced spacing like SuitePImproved.

I was sharing because both bundled themes, SuiteR and Suite7 seem to have the same issue with missing sub-panel info. I don’t mean to hijack the thread, only including the info in case anyone else who uses Suite7 or SuiteR themes upgrades and encounters a problem.
