Hi,

Can I merge/update the email address of the contacts when doing an import?

I need to update email addresses of all contacts at once. Can I achieve this in suitecrm?

If you import contacts that already exist in the CRM (to do so the most reliable way to check the existence is to import also the id) then existing data that is being imported will be overwritten with the new data.

This is very useful but very dangerous because you may overwrite data that you want to keep.

I recommend you try it with a small set of records and that you import a few fields at a time in order to avoid overwriting the wrong things.

I also recommend that you backup you crm and your db before you start.
