Undefined text sprinkled throughout Suitecrm, namely in pop ups

I know that this usually comes down to a permission issue especially on linux (This is on Ubuntu 18.04) but I have set the permissions to the permissions referenced in the installation guide a few times now.

What separates this issue from what I’ve come across so far is that if I access Suitecrm through my public ip or local ip it works perfectly. Whenever I use my domain, I get various undefined text, typically on popups. Am I missing a permission on something outside of the suitecrm directory? Or is it something else entirely? I appreciate any help.

You have to get the ownerships (chown command) right, not just the permissions.

You can also check your .htaccess and any SELinux restrictions, if you made changes or are using this.

Also check your config.php for the site_url and host_name entries.

Thanks! I’ll check the config.php because that sounds like something that I haven’t checked out yet. If I have no luck there I’ll. Check the ownership again, however I did set the owner as www-data and only have the issue when using the website url. The config.php sounds like it could be it.

thanks again for your suggestion. I’ve double checked the permissions and I’ll put them below, I’ve also checked the config.php as that did point to the local ip instead of the domain name, I’m getting the same result either way though. In the config.php my hostname is set to localhost.

I don’t think I’ve set anything up in .htaccess or SELinux restrictions. Is there something I should be looking for there?

Minutes after posting this, I commented out RewriteBase /suitecrm in the .htaccess and that fixed my problem.
