I’m looking for a few ideas how to digitize our process for signing off on and archiving work hours.
Currently we print out a monthly timesheet report that is then signed by the employee and his/her superior. These are then archived in paper form.
One way would be to use software to digitally sign and lock PDFs (so they can’t be forged or changed later on). these could be archived digitally.
Still need to look into this but I expect this to be a bit tedious requiring some kind of key-management and/or special software something…
Another avenue would be entirely inside SuiteCRM using more sophisticated Access Rights. But I haven’t come up with a great idea how to do this yet. This would entail at the least:
easy mass-edit of respective timesheet entries by the superior after they have been signed off on.
locking timesheet entries of a given time-frame (in our case monthly) after they have been signed off, so they can’t be changed later.
Any ideas or currently implemented solutions greatly appreciated!
I recently looked at digitally signed PDF’s for another project (not related to SuiteCRM) and one of the things that stopped me is that it seems every software for digitally signed PDF’s is terribly expensive!
You should be able to do what you want in SuiteCRM with Security Groups. You can easily give and revoke access to large numbers of records in one single operation… I don’t know the details of your requirements, but it seems doable.
I’m sure it’s doable, but not without quite some custom coding i believe. The supertimesheet module we’ve been using doesn’t give us the standard advanced search options which would allow for easy mass-edits. It’s also not prepared GUI-wise for the locking of individual timesheet entries afaik (only for showing / hiding projects/project tasks/cases based on security suite).
Also keeping track of who has the rights to check and lock who’s timesheet entries when seems a bit tedious…
Yes, I also noticed that PDF signing is expensive stuff.
