Hi there,

Yes, we’re very pleased that SuiteCRM is now on the Bitnami Library. Giving the opportunity for more diverse deployment options and greater usability/ease of use.

Thanks,

Will.

For what it’s worth, I thought I’d use the bitnami image & upgrade to SuiteCRM 7.2 beta to see the new changes.

I’m quite delighted with the process (as a Linux amateur).

I downloaded the SuiteCRM-Upgrade-7.1.x-to-7.2 Beta 2 zip file & just pointed SuiteCRM upgrade wizard to it

The upgrade worked easily on the clean 7.15 downloaded appliance, with only some bitnami file permissions to address.

However, every file that needed permission changes was listed in the SuiteCRM upgrade wizard

A quick installation of webmin & the file permissions were easily fixed. (changed to 777)

I also installed Lubuntu-desktop for a look around without real issues.

All of that is described at (https://wiki.bitnami.com/Virtual_Appliances_Quick_Start_Guide#How_to_increase_the_RAM_memory.3f)

Although if you prefer Lubuntu to Ubuntu for a lighter weight GUI, then the right command was sudo apt-get install lubuntu-desktop

The webmin guide remains accurate after that change.

Of course, the first impressions of 7.2 are great. I’ve noticed that Workflow is included & the reports module seems much better. (including custom fields).

Installing vmware tools can’t find the generic kernel, so you might want to skip that.

So I thought I’d take the next step & upgrade my test Bitnami server to the newest StuiteCRM 7.2 (Beta 3).

The upgrade procedure was totally smooth & just worked.

(The file permission changes were still in place from last time)

With the upgrade, the Theme doesn’t change by itself & the existing theme remains as default.

A quick look at Themes under admin allows the default to be changed from Suite7 to SuiteR, however each existing user still has the old theme & the option to keep it.

(Many people don’t like change, so that’s a good thing).

Back to Admin & this time selecting User management & changing to the SuiteR theme was easily done.

Wow! :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

This theme is going to be a real winner.
