For anyone else who gave up trying to install SuiteCRM 8, there is now a Bitnami stack!
I launched it on AWS with no problems.

I gave up and built it from scratch on a Free Oracle Tier ARM64 VM on an Ubuntu 20.04 base OS - works a treat! 
I don’t find a stack for SuiteCRM8 from Bitnami in the AWS marketplace. What did you install?
