Sorry guys but I’ve had to abandon SuiteCRM and move to another tool.
I got it installed & could access it via an admin ID, but there were things not working (e.g. the admin page is blank, the user admin panel has no ‘change password’ feature, the logo doesn’t seem to change to my own logo file). I had my hosting service double check the permissions and all was OK.
Although I have some technical skills, I’m not a detailed expert (but can figure my way through most things). Sadly, to get SuiteCRM working seemed to be needing too much work ‘under the hood’. I did look on fiverr to see if anyone would do a quick install & config but the gigs I found had all been paused.
My main feedback is that the installation guide assumes you have a certain level of technical expertise; it could do to be more of an ‘idiots guide’ approach. For example, not everyone knows how to issue commands via SSH so an explanation of how to check & change ownership & permissions via cPanel would be a big help - or a link to a detailed explanation of how to use SSH? Maybe I’m asking too much and a business should use a technical person to do the install. If thats the case, it would be really useful if the SuitCRM forum had a section for people who will do that for a cheap price.
Anway, I have to admit that I’m disappointed I wasn’t able to get this working. SuiteCRM looks to be a great CRM tool. Maybe I’ll return in the future, but for now I need to move on as I just haven’t time to spend on technical issues.
Best wishes to you & SuiteCRM for the future.
Steve
