SugarCRM recently released 6.5.21 which patches a vulnerability. SugarCRM strongly recommends that you install this update at the earliest opportunity.
What is the procedure to incorporate this patch into a SuiteCRM deployment?
Any help is appreciated,
Ralf.
Generally with any new SuiteCRM patch the SugarCRM updates will be included, I am unsure of how installing the update might affect an instance of Suite but if you want to apply the patch then you should be able to use the upgrade wizard (Admin > Upgrade Wizard.)
I recommend waiting until this patch gets incorporated into the SuiteCRM distribution which seems to have historically been done not too long after.
Hi, there are 2 updates now in sugarcrm 6.5.21 & 6.5.22. I have suitecrm 7.3 installed but still says it runs on 6.5.20.
Should I still wait until SuiteCRM next release?
Thanks.
Hi
SuiteCRM was built around SugarCRM
SugarCRM is no longer Opensource so from my understanding there will be no more upgrades to the “specific SugarCRM 6.5.20 core” that is referred to on the SuiteCRM “About” page, but that if you keep your SuiteCRM updated you will always get the benefit of patches/security and updates that ensure your SuiteCRM experience is rich and safe.
therefore if you are running SuiteCRM 7.3 you have the most up-to-date version of SuiteCRM which will therefore include any patches for known vulnerabilities.

Hi, thanks for the answer.
All this came to my attention because there is a new release of SecuritySuite that is only available to sugarcrm 6.5.22. I’ve checked the SugarCRM sourceforge repo and they have a 6.5.22 CE version, which was released a few days ago, that’s why I thought we should update the core to the latest version.
I will keep an eye on what happen with the next SuiteCRM releases and if they include the fixes that can be found in the SugarCRM updates.
Thanks.
Hi leenyx,
I just uploaded a 6.5.20 version of the new SecuritySuite that will work with the latest SuiteCRM release (which is based on 6.5.20 CE). You can grab that and install it.
Let me know if you have any questions.
