Security Group not working?

I set up a security group and attached a role to it. The role allows for people to only view Accounts in their group. However, the people within that group can only see their own accounts. Not those of anyone else.

The Group and the Role have the proper users attached.

Help appreciated.


Hi Ben, You might selected owner in the dropdown. You have to select Group instead of Owner. which shows the accounts which are created by particular security group

Apart from nazi’s suggestion, maybe you haven’t assigned the Account records to the group.

Go into each Account’s detail view, scroll down to the bottom, add Group to the account. If it works, you can then use Mass Assign (from the Accounts List view) to make the process fasater for large numbers of accounts.
