Restrict access to records within one module

Is it possible to restrict access to certain users (or user groups) within one module based on certain values (like account for example)?

hi Gerrit,

sounds like you need Security Groups and Roles, both are in SuiteCRM. you can find Security Groups in the admin panel.

Is there a way to go a little further and set specific fields to read only or not access at all? An example could be on an opportunity where there is a $ amount … a sales person should be able to see/edit this information however someone in customer service shouldn’t even be able to see this field but there might be other information within the opportunity that the customer service rep needs to see.

Hi Guys,

Thanks so much for your replies!
What I’m looking for though is something a bit different.

I want all my employees to have access to our Contacts Module.
But I want employee A to only have access to the contacts that are linked to Account A.
Is this possible with Security Groups? I cant seem to find it.
