Project Tasks (tree-like structure and dependencies)

I´m having some issues with the Project module:

a) Task dependencies seem a little loose (task IDs: parent, predecessors), don´t have a lookup field / validation.

b) If I create a numbered structure for the project tasks (each task has a unique number and ID), the project doesn´t seem to show this parent-child structure in the Gantt View, or even as a subpanel of “sub-tasks” in the task´s detail view.

I´m I doing something wrong? Any ideas on how to get this done ?

Create the tasks in the Gantt view and you should be able to set the parent child relationships. This will show an arrow between parent and children etc…
