I am brand new to SuiteCRM and have been tasked with helping to configure an installation for a client. However, they need a way to create what they call a “job number” for each new opportunity that has $ associated with it. That ID or number would be used in their other systems including accounting systems. Is one automatically created with each new opportunity, or a way to do that?

It’s very easy to simply create a custom field in Studio to hold that information, and they can fill it by hand.
If you need it automatic there are several ways to achieve it, search online you will find several like this one:

I don’t know which could be best for you, are you a PHP developer, or were you trying to achieve this just from the UI?
