Migrating to SuiteCRM please advise :)

Hey guys,
I am considering migrating to Suite CRM from another open source CRM that I didn’t have very good experience with. For this purpose I’d like to ask this community a couple of questions to find out if SuiteCRM is a good fit for me.

  1. Does SuiteCRM support the pipeline view kanban model as in Pipedrive natively or does it work with lists like vtiger?

  2. Does the Open-Source self-hosted version support all the integrations in the store or are the integrations just for the managed version?

  3. Is it possible to integrate SuiteCRM with asterisk in order to make, record, store and share VoIP calls from the CRM?

  4. Does SuiteCRM have powerful workflow automation features?

  5. Is Suite CRM secure and GDPR-ready?

  6. Is it easy to set up desktop notifications for pending tasks with Suite CRM?

  7. Does Suite CRM have a large and experienced community?

  8. Does suite CRM have marketing automation features and email tracking open/reads/clicks?

Thank you for your attention

Hi, welcome to the Community! :tada:

  1. Does SuiteCRM support the pipeline view kanban model as in Pipedrive natively or does it work with lists like vtiger?

There’s an add-on for Kanban view. Out-of-the-box (OOTB) it works with list views.

  1. Does the Open-Source self-hosted version support all the integrations in the store or are the integrations just for the managed version?

All kinds of installations support all integrations.

  1. Is it possible to integrate SuiteCRM with asterisk in order to make, record, store and share VoIP calls from the CRM?

There is one (or maybe more) add-on for Asterisk integrations.

  1. Does SuiteCRM have powerful workflow automation features?

Yes, check the Docs on Workflows. You can then extend this a lot if you can use a few simple code customizations (Logic Hooks).

  1. Is Suite CRM secure and GDPR-ready?

Yes and yes. It’s had security audits, it’s used worldwide in many corporations including some quite large ones. All security Issues are dealt with quickly.

  1. Is it easy to set up desktop notifications for pending tasks with Suite CRM?

OOTB I don’t think Tasks module uses reminders (which are the way to get desktop notifications). Calls do, and also Meetings. This can be extended, of course (everything can).

  1. Does Suite CRM have a large and experienced community?

Yes. SugarCRM has been around since 2004, and SuiteCRM since 2014, I believe. It’s the most downloaded open-source CRM. You can judge for yourself by seeing the activity here on the Forums and on GitHub.

  1. Does suite CRM have marketing automation features and email tracking open/reads/clicks?

Yes, see here the section on Campaign Status and Response Tracking

If I may add a bit of advice: I find that you get the best results if you leave aside some budget for customizations, even if it’s not a large budget. With a CRM, making the right decisions early in the process of implementation, and having the “small things” in place when your users are starting to adopt it, is very important. Using some specialist work goes a long way to ensure you have a smooth experience.
