Issue: can't save date field as condition in report

I’m aware there have been many issues surrounding reports and dates, however, I’ve never seen this one talked about before. I tried searching for it, but I wasn’t able to find anything similar.

I’m attempting to create a contacts report that includes information from other modules. I would like to filter these results based on a date field in another module. When I add this field as a condition, set my date, and save the report I do not get the results I’m expecting. The report results do not get filtered based on my date and when I go back to the edit screen to check my conditions the date I entered previously is missing or “lost”.

I recreated this error in the most recent Suite demo to make sure it wasn’t related to my specific version (though I’m running 7.10.4).

Steps to recreate:

  1. Create contacts report that includes date field from other module (in this example I used the Expected Close Date field from Opportunities)

  2. Add condition to filter results based on date field from other module

  3. Save and view report

  4. Verify that date field setting in conditions tab did not save
