Inbound Email not working, all settings correct. Tests fine, no folders showing up (Version 7.5.3)

The inbound E-mail does not work at all for me. I can send E-mails fine.

I have inputed all the correct connection details for the incoming mail server and which supports IMAP. I tried both SSL and not encyrpted.
When I press ‘test settings’ it states ‘connection completed successfully’ and I can also see and choose the E-mail
folders on the server when pressing the ‘select’ button. However, when I add and save this account and then I go to E-mail module screen, I can see the account names, but no folders and it doesn’t appear to be collecting E-mail.

Looks a like a bug and I have read about many others having a similar problem, but have seen no solution. What’s causing this and how it be corrected ?

I’m having the exact same issue. I have attempted every suggestion with no success. I’m running on ubuntu, however I’m using lampp so the install isn’t in the base ETC directory. I’m wondering if this is causing the get app imap.so command to not update the correct PHP directories? I can test the functionality and I get the folder structure from my GMAIL account but it will never download emails. This is the case with both GMAIL and OUTLOOK.

Any help would be great.
