As part of the installation process, I’m importing Accounts and Contacts. I’ve read quite a bit about it, so I know it’s important to import Accounts before Contacts which I’ve done.
When I imported the contacts, those contacts do not seem to establish a relationship with the accounts. I looked at the Import template fields and I see options like ‘ID’ and ‘Account Name’. ‘Account Name’ is self-explanatory. I had assumed ‘ID’ was Account ID, but I’ve not been able to find any information confirming or denying this assumption. Is there any documentation that explains the contacts fields and which ones have a relationship to Account?
I tried to import a contact filling up the Account Name and the ID. I had assumed that SuiteCRM will recognized that the Contact is associated with that Account, so it will automatically fill the address associated with that Account once the Contact was imported but it did not happen. Once the contact was imported with First Name, Last Name, Account Name, Phone number, and Role, the remaining field which I had assume they would auto-fill with the Account information, they didn’t. What am I missing? Am I making the wrong assumption about Contacts and Accounts? Beyond ‘Account Name’, what are the key fields that tells SuiteCRM that the contact belongs to an Account?
