How to link 'Accounts' together

Hi people,

Can someone please let me know how to link different 'Accounts" in SuiteCRM

Many thanks,

Rich

If you would like to link accounts then the best place to do this is in Admin > Studio.

You can then do this a number of ways depending on what you are specifically trying to achieve. Under Accounts > Fields you can add a Relate field what will allow to to link the accounts 1 way.
Alternatively you can create a Relationship ā€˜one to one’ if you would like Field to Field

When editing a child Account, you have a ā€œMember ofā€ field that you can edit and specify a parent account.

If you prefer getting to it from the opposite direction, on a Parent Account you have a subpanel called ā€œmember organizationsā€ where you can Create (and link) a new Account, or Select an existing Account.

Many thanks. All my account have ā€˜member of’ field. Can you tell me how I create parent accounts where needed?

Have you tried it before asking? : - )

Just create a new account. Then link the two accounts together by editing the member-of field.

hey dude, I know it’s easy to ask before giving it a go but if I did that I’d be in the wrong industry!

I did try but when I set up a new account I can’t see any fields for ā€˜member organizations’ it always defaults to ā€˜member of’. What am I missing?

Member organizations is a subpanel, just scroll (waaay) down on Account details screen to see it.

If it’s not showing there then maybe there’s an option to show it somewhere, like editing available subpanels or something… or maybe it only shows when there are member organizations already linked.

But anyway, those are the two sides of the same thing. If you assign a ā€œmember-ofā€ account on a child account, the parent account immediately gets that assigned as a ā€œmember organizationā€.

This is multi-level, meaning you can have an account A which is a member of an account B which is a member of an account C, etc…
