How to edit the email of the records assignment?

Again I walk around here with a query…

Where I can edit the email that is sent to users whenever a record is assigned?

For very basic changes i worked in …/include/language/en_us.notify_template.html copied it to the custom directory and played with that but when I wanted to do more I ended up turning off notifications in the email settings and actually created templates within the workflow module so when the records changed, i send out our own custom emails.

So you can send them to the assigned user etc… and put a lot more information into them, and make them look prettier.
