How to backup Suite CRM before upgrades

SuiteCRM is effectively backed up by

  1. copying the entire directory where it runs
  2. exporting the full database

But you might prefer a solution based on virtualization and/or containers. What i do is run inside a VM and Snapshot it before an upgrade. If it goes wrong, I roll back with one click.
