How customize the include and module folder in custom

Hi,

   Can You Give me a solution that I need to change a code in custom folder instead of parent,

For include,
I need to change some code in this file
include\Dashlets\DashletGenericDisplay.tpl
I created a file in custom but it didn’t show any changes in it
custom\include\Dashlets\DashletGenericDisplay.tpl

Same Problem for Module structure also
\modules\Import\tpls\step2.tpl
custom\modules\Import\tpls\step2.tpl

Did I made any mistake, suggest me a solution.

Did you run a Quick Repair and Rebuild after uploading your files?
