Add Tabs to the Home Page spawns the label / columns prompt, but nothing beyond that. How can we go about troubleshooting this?

When the prompt appears, are you filling in the name/selecting the number of columns and saving? Does this not add any tabs?

It looks like I’m only having problems with Firefox. IE10 + Chrome correctly adds the tabs.
SuiteCRM > PHP-FPM > Varnish > Nginx
I’m having the same issue: Fails with Chrome/Adblock, but works with Native IE 11.0 with no extensions.

I’ve found adding dashlets simply doesn’t work, in Chrome, IE, Firefox, and with AdBlock disabled.
The only way I managed to do this was to create another tab, then after this for some reason I can create dashlets. If not - nothing happens when you click on the dashlet.

I’m using FF 28.0 on Win 7 Pro SP1.
Just another data-point: running 7.1.1 on Dreamhost
Add Tab:
Fails on Chrome Version 34.0.1847.116 m (Adblock installed but Disabled for domain)
Works on IE 11 (Windows 8)
Add Dashlet:
Works on Chrome (same config)
Works on IE 11 (same config)

Don’t think mikebruns99 was asking for support, he was just offering his scenario for testing purposes for the developers… community software and all!
Both add tabs and dashlets in a bit of a mess I’d say. In Chrome and Firefox the tabs dialogue will appear, but on clicking save the tab doesn’t appear. Refreshing the home page thereafter doesn’t help. In Internet Explorer 11 the tab does appear once saved. However, it fails to disappear once deleted.
Regarding dashlets, neither Chrome, FF or IE11 allow me to add dashlets. The dialogue box appears for Chrome and FF with the various icons/tabs in but does not respond when a dashlet is selected. With IE11 i just get an empty dialogue box.

What is your Server/MySQL/PHP setup? What are your permissions set to? What OS/distribution are you running on?
I have installed SuiteCRM 7.1.1 and I can add tabs, dashlets and edit them without error on firefox/chrome on Linux.

Exactly. Browser testing is tough with diverse populations. Windows, Linux, Mac, Chrome, IE, Firefox, Opera, Safari, Mobile, etc. . Any testing I do that can help the developers identify the bugs, is good for everyone.
Upgraded from 7.0
Server = Linux (Centos)
MySQL = 5.1.73
PHP setup = 5.3
Permissions = 644 files & 755 directories
Browsers = Chrome, Safari, Firefox & IE 11
We have been through testing for weeks and still yet to get the add new tabs to work.
Have been through previous suggestions posted here but still no luck!
Hi Guys, I have some updates
Using the same settings I have listed above I have found the following:
Using a Mac
Chrome (with/without Adblock) = Structure & layout are fine, “Add Dashlet” works fine / Click “Add Tab”, the option to name and size the columns appears, select my options and click save - nothing happens
Safari = Structure & layout are fine, “Add Dashlet” & “Add Tab” both work fine!!
Using a PC
Chrome (with/without Adblock) = Structure & layout are fine, “Add Dashlet” works fine / Click “Add Tab”, the option to name and size the columns appears, select my options and click save - nothing happens
Safari = Structure is distorted (Header banner) “Add Dashelt” works fine / “Add Tab” the option to name and size the columns appears, select my options and click save - nothing happens
IE 11 = Not supported
IE 10 = Compatibility view not supported
IE 9 = Structure is distorted (Header banner) “Add Dashelt” doesn’t work / “Add Tab” the option to name and size the columns appears, select my options and click save - nothing happens (nothing happens on IE 9 but when logging back into the system with another browser you can see the tab has been created)
Over these tests today I found Safari using a Mac the only successful browser, once I had created the tabs through safari, Chrome on Mac&PC worked with the tabs fine, able to add new dashlets into the tabs etc, it’s just adding the tabs

The above was done yesterday,
File permissions = 644
Directories permissions = 755
The “Undefined” didn’t appear all day!
Have just logged in today and undefined is back and no browsers can add tabs etc
Any reasons why this would have happened?

I updated the below to 775:
cache
custom / modules
themes
data
upload
config_override.php
on Mac
Chrome = Works fine!
Safari = Words fine!
Haven’t tested on a PC
