I’m trying to setup SuiteCRM Version 7.1.5 Sugar Version 6.5.20 (Build 1001) up on 1&1 shared hosting.
In Admin->Email Settings when I try to Send Test Email I get an error ‘The following From address failed’. In the log, it’s showing up as
[4333][1][FATAL] SMTP -> ERROR: Failed to connect to server. Code: 110 Reply: Connection timed out

I read that 1&1 blocks ports so contacted their support who say that the port is open:

So any advice would be most welcome.
Is there a way that I can verify the port is open? Telnet doesn’t work for me when I SSH into the server.
I’ve been trying it on 25 and on 587 but get the same result either way.
