Email Template Issue: Cannot create templates like the standard ones

I was wondering why the email template user interface does not contain enough field selection options to be able to create the “default” email templates provided with the SuiteCRM application.

In fact the record type selection list on “Insert Variable:” is limited to

  • Account
  • Contact Lead Target
  • User
  • Events

Is there a way for us to customize this? Other than looking for a way to include the other stock modules, I’m also looking to include custom module fields.

Hi Calvin,

In 7.1, you will be able to add custom fields and these will display in the variable drop down within the email template.
