Email - SMTP setup for 7.63

Hi All -

New to SuiteCrm and had a bit of a hard time installing it but it is installed and running :slight_smile: - My problem now is setting up the email SMTP service. I have tried several times and keep getting the following error:

Error:SMTP connect() failed. https://github.com/PHPMailer/PHPMailer/wiki/Troubleshooting

I’ve read every post to try and fix the thing but no luck. I know the gmail account is good and the password is correct.

Can somebody recommend where to look or what to try? We are installed on a Unix system running PHP 5.5 not 5.6. I did check to make sure the code was correct and it is.

I might also be looking for a bit of help in finishing up the install and getting things on track. I’m willing to pay a reasonable price for the support - Can someone point me in the right direction?

The problem with Gmail is generally that gmail is blocking you for using it externally with your suitecrm setup,

but the advice given here I have found is the best way to get gmail to allow you send email via your SuiteCRM
