Email setup issues

Hi all,

I have played with SuiteCRM using a Bitnami stack for a couple of weeks now and I really like it, so I took the plunge and I’ve installed it on a subdomain of my website.

Using the Bitnami stack version I was able to send emails (via Google Apps) beautifully but I cannot send even the test message from the Suite that’s sat on my website. I am using exactly the same email authentication details - all I get is a generic “Error:The following From address failed: [[my email address]]”.

What’s the next step in troubleshooting this?

I suggest to check apache and sugarcrm log.
You can test server setting by create simple email send script to verify.

You have set a Schedular? Emails reach the inbox and the problem occurs only with Google Apps?

For me it was the number of queries to Google - Google has since limited the maximum number of queries a few weeks ago. After I set the interval to 5 minutes it worked again. You must also delete the e-mail account and re-enter.

Sometimes the devil is in the detail - also check the selected outgoing email server / smtp-settings for this account.
