Email Set Up

Hello,
Iā€™m trying to set up my email. I have tested the settings from the Admin ā€œEmail Settingsā€ and they test fine for the outgoing server.

When I try to set up the email as a user, I fill in the information from my gmail account, but when I select the Trash folder, I get the message that says something like: SMTP connection broken and I cannot continue the set up.

I am not a programmer and we donā€™t really have an IT to help. What am I doing wrong?

What type of e-mail account are you configuring for the user? The TRASH folder should be selected for the IMAP connection. It may also be named Archive. Try configuring the incoming IMAP service first, then the outgoing SMTP mail. Be sure that the ports correspond to the proper services, especially if using encryption. IMAP should be 143/993 and SMTP is 25 unencrypted for 465/587 if so.

Do you have the ability to look at the logs in either the suite installation itself, or on the server?

Thank you for your reply. I have sent this along to the person who installed Suite. I cannot view the logs and am hoping they can figure this out. If we cannot, I will contact you again.
