Email Issues with 7.9.1

I have a couple issue with the email features and I was wondering if anybody else is having the same.

  1. Loading emails is really slow. My imap inbox is hosted and managed by amazon aws. So I suppose the connection to the imap should be fine.

  2. I can use my email signatures. They don’t show up automatically and I can’t add them in manually either. Am I missing something?

  3. Changing the editor in my user profile doesn’t actually seem to change anything.

Yes there are still Email bugs in 7.9.1.

My email is completely DOA since upgrade to 7.9.1. All email account settings and tests from admin panel work just fine. But there is “no email to display” when I go to email. I cannot send email from the CRM. Basically, I am dead in the water. Should have put a bif, red, blinking warning sign on this upgrade NOT TO DO IT if you use email.

So with 7.9.1 at least you can Reply and Forward now. But am I missing something or is the Delete function missing in the Email module?

Emails can be deleted from the CRM by first importing and then going into the detail view - > actions menu. Currently there is no way to delete an email from IMAP.

But you can delete IMAP emails in 7.8 right?

I would think most people would want to be able to have the same full functionality in 7.9? In most cases you’re not going to want to import all emails into the CRM and you aren’t going to want to have to go back and forth between two different email clients.

Is the new Email module essentially not fully completed at this point?

In the dashboard, with the mail dashlet, when i click on the message to see it. I see the body in html.
Still in the mail dashlet, when :
i click reply -> blank page
with quick create -> no data was imported in the contact form (as mail or name).

In the mail module :
When i click reply, I must choose a related link (contact or account etc…). Maybe it’s normal ?

In the AOS-quote module :
When I want to send a quote pdf by mail Actions->Email pdf I have a blank page.

Maybe not an email issue.
But whith 7.8 version when I delete the mail in the sugar mail client, it wasn’t delete in the acount or contact module.
Now, it’s delete in the base ?
right ?

Some precision :
In the AOS-quote module :
When I want to send a quote pdf by mail Actions->Email pdf I have a blank page.
But i can find the mail in draft with FROM and TO empty.

This issue should be resolved with the fix: https://github.com/salesagility/SuiteCRM/pull/3748 and included in the next release.

I have the same issue as

It’s not just quotes. It is invoices too. And worse than that, the activity is logged to the contact record as though it happened even though the action is not yet completed. This is a design flaw - no activity should be logged which has not actually occurred… Very important, IMO.

Hi, I am completely unable to even configure email within SuiteCRM. I installed 7.9.0 and then updated the files with 7.9.1 before I completed configuring the application for use. I’ve used different email addresses with different types (e.g. smtp, etc.) including gmail with no luck. Is this a systemic problem or just with new installs?

Hi, I completed a new install of 7.9.0 and then upgraded the software to 7.9.1 before I configured the email. I continually receive an SMTP connect()failed error. Is this a systemic problem with new installs only? I’ve tried different email configurations, different ports (from recommended by provider), SSL/TLS, even a gmail account which would seem to be easy. I always get the same error. Thanks

@simon78 if you need email, I recommend either going with 7.8.5 or waiting for 7.9.2. The other 7.9x versions need many fixes which are already under way.

But there is another very tricky “SMTP connect” issue that is independent of the new email module, you might be getting that. That is still unsolved in gitHub…

Thanks for the responses. Looks like I should wait for 7.9.2. Hopefully this fixes the problems.

I have this issue too jcrist - used to at least be able to drag emails into a Deleted Items/Trash folder, now there’s not even a view of folders (unless I’m missing something…!)
