Document autogenerated numbered field in PDF Letter Template

Is there a way to insert into a PDF Template (Letter - Contacts) an auto generated number such as aos_invoice_number, so that a letter contains an autogenerated progressive and non editable numbered field?

Sorry this is not standard functionality at moment. It could be custom coded but it would take somebody who knew what they were doing. :unsure:

1)You could install this AutoIncrement field from http://www.sugarforge.org/frs/?group_id=1289
2) Make the newly created field visible in detail view only of the module you are making the template
3) Map new field in your PDF template, no coding required as long as this works.
