We are proposing Suitecrm to one of our magazine publisher customers. They have one requirement for the Distribution channel. Currently, every month they have various distributors for their magazine like in June 30 copies need to send to Person A, 50 copies need to send to Person B kind of. They have homemade crm with this feature. I am checking suitecrm and this feature I am not able to get or not able to understand how to setup such a thing.
I’m sorry, I don’t understand the requirement exactly… when you say “distribute magazine”, is this a physical delivery or an email campaign?
It sounds like its a physical delivery (because otherwise sending many copies wouldn’t make sense), but then, what do you need the CRM system do for you? To remind you the amounts to send? To report on amounts sent in the past?
Yes, they are distributing a physical copy to their distributors. They want to use suitecrm to manage their vendors, customers, distributors and invoices and all. For physical distribution, they want to know how many copies they have to send to which distributor every month kind of case. We have done 2 workshop and suitecrm best fit to them in Open Source but the only challenge is they want to manage distribution part in CRM too, which is already there in their homemade system.
You should be able to have a Product for each magazine, and with the amounts you can specify how many they should receive. This should be good enough to track work to be done (a Quote, for example), and to Invoice work already done.
It is not exactly a subscription management system, the part that you will find missing is the repetition (do this all over again next month). But that might turn out to be easy to achieve, for example with a Workflow that re-generates a Quote whenever you are done with it (perhaps when you invoice it), changing the date to the next month, and checking if the subscription is running out or not.
So you’re pretty close to having everything you need, maybe you just need some simple customizations. Try installing a demo version (or playing with the ones you can find online)
