Dashboard and Tooltips

Hi there,
I have installed the 7.0.2 version on to our shared hosting platform but have a couple of strange errors.

Firstly, I cannot add or remove dashlets on the dashboard - they remove but the settings do not stay.

Secondly when trying to add a meeting, entering the detail in to the related to:account field does not show the tooltip popup for the named account after typing a few characters as it does on the local version of Sugar - is this a missing feature?

I am assuming this is a permissions problem somewhere, but have added the permissions as per the suggested install.

Any ideas?

Hi there,

If you are running linux, try the following permissions:

sudo chown -R www-data:www-data .

sudo chmod -R 755 .

sudo chmod -R 775 cache custom modules themes data upload config_override.php

These can vary slightly, such as for CentOS the owner is apache not www:data

just out of curiosity, what should the values for the permissions be in the config.php file?

Hi there,

The recommended permissions in the config.php on linux would be 1517 and 420.

Although the files created seem to be of the correct values now it’s still not saving the dashboard.
I have also noted that it does not allow me to add values to the dropdowns within the studio…

Hi there,

Do you know if your host is restricting anything? Are you getting any relevant errors in your sugarcrm.log, located in the root of your SuiteCRM directory?

Have you performed repairs such as Quick Repair & Rebuild, Rebuild Relationships and Repair Roles in Admin -> Repair?

I seem to have got a little further…
I have completely reinstalled the Suite 7.0.2 package and recreated a new DB - changed the file permissions as above and added them in to the config.php file.
This has fixed the issue with the dashboard and adding things in the studio.

This time I haven’t imported the British English language pack, I suspect that this is part of the issue

The tooltips however still are not working…
Manually typing anything in to the ‘Related:account’ box simply results in an empty box - I have to search for the account and select it from the results - this then fills in the box with the account name.

Are your relate fields working within other modules, or is it just restricted to Meetings?

I really would like to get this sorted - does anyone have any idea why I cant enter anything in the the realted:account boxes when creating contacts/meetings etc…?

The Tooltips don’t appear and moving out of the box just clears my entry.

Although I appreciate the help, can you (or anybody) point me at the file(s) or the php that controls the text input boxes and the tool-tip popups please.
