Controlling Who Can Edit a Record

Hi,

I am trying to implement a model where the salesperson assigned to a record and those with a sales manager role are the only users that can edit an account or contact. Any salesperson can view the records.

If would appreciate some feedback on the best way to implement this. I have Googled for this and I would think it is a common scenario so I apologize if I am missing something simple here.

SuiteCRM uses 3-tier permissions model which is powerful but hard to grasp at first.

I normally recommend this article to get things going: once you have it set up like that, it’s much easier to adjust to your specific needs.
