Considering SuiteCRM

I would like to ask if it is possible to use SuiteCRM for following:

  1. I would like to have system which would contain my emails,
  2. possibility to log calls, meetings etc. I think this is possible here
    My main requirements are:
  3. to make my own comments to all previous.
  4. being able to have some clear view to all previous I mean that If I open contact I can not only see that there are some emails, calls, notes but being able to read them all without clicking on each one.

Optionally but Ideally 5. able to do all this on mobile version as well.
6. Some sync with Free open source SW like Thunderbird or something else.
I am not about using it for sales just for personal notes.

I am asking here because my company is looking for Open Source CRM.
they require following:

  1. Hierarchy of contacts,
  2. history of positions of a person within company
  3. Org Chart (I found it in store)
  4. Notes
  5. Communication
    And Mainly Hierarchy of roles so for example people at the top level would be able to see everything (whole communication) but people from bottom level would not be able to see top level people notes / communication.

We need it just to have this hierarchy of our contacts and communication. No sales or other things. At company we use windows and MS products for everything so integration with outlook would be great but I think that this is solved here.
6. Mobile version is not required.

Please let me know if SuiteCRM is suitable for this in both cases.

hmmm … does the requirement not sound like the most bnasic need you would have from a CRM System. So why woudl you need any additonal modules.

I would assume you can just create the accounts and contact, link them to each other, drop emails in an activity stream, and read all of the activitiy tream in an easy and fast manner.

Any CRM System shoudl be able to do this out of the box. And also be available mobile.

It was concerned to first point,
1. history of positions of a person within company

Not sure how you maintain history of person maintain in core module and core fields ? did not sound like a new “Position history” module needs to develop and have a relationship with core Account module.
